Anacyclus pyrethrum roots, commonly known as akarkara (pellitory root), have been widely acclaimed in the Ayurvedic system of medicine. In India it is cultivated in a few regions especially at elevations of 900m at Katra (Jammu and Kashmir), Bengal and Himalayan region.
